Iran: geography matters
After the initiation of hostilities between Israel and Iran on June 12th, I think back to the Iraq War in 2003. And that makes me compare Iran to Iraq.
One of my precepts is that geography is important. Similar to my commentary on Gaza last year, I’ve considered some aspects of the geography in the current conflict.
According to the CIA World Factbook, the land area of:
Iraq is 438,317
sq km.
Afghanistan is 652,230
sq km.
Pakistan is 796,095
sq km.
Iran is 1,648,195
sq km.
Iran is larger than all of the others and is actually larger than any two of them combined.
This could be serious.
