Damaged Arrival Display at Light-Rail Station
Coming back from Capitol Hill (Seattle) this evening, I made my way to the entrance of the Light-Rail Station at E Denny Way and Nagle Pl. When I arrived though, I saw that the monitor that shows arrival information was smashed and inoperative. (See photo at top.)
I am a huge fan of public transit and when I see the destruction of public-transit infrastructure, I find it distressing. I hope that the monitor is restored soon.
Also though, I don’t like to go down to the platform unless I know that my train is coming soon. If it is going to be a while, I would rather stay above ground. But with the monitor out, I didn’t know when my train was coming.
To deal with that, I went to the larger entrance to the same station located at Broadway and E John Street. (See map below.) When I arrived, I saw that I had ten minutes to wait, so I hung out around the entrance, which has benches, until my train was closer. Then came home.
